Hamstrings
The posterior thigh muscles – consisting of the biceps femoris, semitendinosus, and semimembranosus – are known as the hamstrings and act as antagonists to the quadriceps. Their main task is the flexion of the knee and extension of the hip. The hamstrings are highly active during running, jumping, or leg strength exercises. The thigh muscles can be specifically targeted at a strength station EISENHORN S or DS for instance with leg curl machines. A strong posterior thigh muscle protects against injuries, improves leg balance, and is a crucial part of a holistically trained lower body.
