Muscle protein synthesis

Muscle Protein Synthesis (MPS) describes the biological process in which the body forms new muscle proteins and integrates them into existing muscles. It is the central foundation for muscle building, regeneration and performance improvement. Through targeted strength training , microscopic tears occur in the musculature. During the subsequent recovery phase, the body reacts by repairing damaged structures and rebuilding them stronger. Three factors are crucial for increased muscle protein synthesis: a sufficient intense training stimulus, adequate recovery time, and an appropriate supply of energy in the form of carbohydrates and protein.

Through clearly structured training intervals, as in the MIKE5 training concept, progressive load and conscious regeneration, MPS is specifically stimulated. This results in sustainable muscle building – without unnecessary training volume or overstrain.
