HIT (High Intensity Training)
HIT (High Intensity Training) is a training approach where few but extremely intense sets are performed up to near or complete muscle failure. Instead of high volume, HIT focuses on maximum effort per set, making the training very short but highly effective. Often, one to two training sets per exercise are enough to set the desired muscle stimulus. Both compound exercises such as the Big 5 and targeted isolation exercises are used. The goal is to challenge the muscle to the maximum to stimulate hypertrophy and strength gains, while keeping the workout time efficient. Due to the focus on intensity, good technique is crucial to avoid injuries. HIT can be combined with long recovery periods between training days to allow the body optimal recovery.
